Volunteers are encouraged to participate in all modules to show learning and understanding of the training materials offered. All modules are designed to help support any children’s ministry in becoming relevant, vibrant and more effective. Our service includes working together with your organisation to provide an effective training programme and schedule for the year, designed to suit the needs of your team and ministry.

OUTLINE OF MODULES WE OFFER AT MANTHANO

CMT MODULE 1 - EQUIPPING CHILDREN’S MINISTRY

This is an in-depth training opportunity for those looking to develop the skills, knowledge and practice needed for working with children between 0 – 13 years. It covers how children grow and learn, spiritual development and the various teaching and learning styles. It offers practical information and guidance on how to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).

CMT MODULE 2 - SAFEGUARDING

This training module aims to increase knowledge and provide a foundational understanding of how to safeguard and protect Children and Young People. In addition, its purpose is to ensure that any volunteer in regular contact with children will be able to effectively recognise and identify signs of abuse and neglect, before passing concerns to a Designated Safeguarding Person. It ensures that any Children’s Ministry provides a safe and secure environment in their  recruitment of volunteers and engagement with children and young people. Along with this training we provide lots of helpful hands-on information to ensure that your Safeguarding Policy is structured and is fit for purpose.

  • Legislation and Statutory guidance and any pending changes
  • Signs and symptoms of abuse and neglect
  • How to handle disclosures and allegations of abuse
  • Allegations of abuse against a Person who works with children
  • DBS Checks and its importance
  • Hands on workshop for the creation or revision of your Safeguarding Policy

CMT MODULE 3 - CHILDREN'S MINISTRY AND LEADERSHIP

This leadership module is designed to help identify some of the most basic principles of church leadership and discover ways to make teams work even more effective. It provides an understanding of the gifts and skills of a children’s leader, how to ensure safer recruitment and induction and the policies required to safeguard vulnerable children and adults. This module helps to identify what a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of a children’s leader should entail to ensure personal growth.

CMT MODULE 4 - PROMOTING POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR

Creating a positive classroom culture can be a challenge, but it's a crucial element in ensuring that learning time is being maximised and teaching is engaging. This behaviour training course provides learners with the knowledge they need to respond appropriately to a child’s challenging behaviour. It provides an understanding of the root causes and triggers behind negative behaviour and how to identify and avoid them. The course teaches learners how to create effective and clear classroom rules, communicate with children effectively and how to improve children's behaviour in a confident and constructive manner. The course explains a range of classroom management techniques that can be used in various scenarios.
